Manimahesh Lake (also known as Dal Lake, Manimahesh) is a high altitude lake situated close to the Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, in the Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Kailash stands at a height of 4,080 metres (13,390 ft).
Every year, this Yatra begins on Krishna Janmashtami and concludes on Radha Ashtami. Manimahesh Lake is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva as per the Hindu mythologies. The Yatra to this sacred place in Himachal Pradesh is regarded as a state level fair according to the declaration of the Himachal Pradesh State Government.
Trekking Daindkund to Jot. 2880 ft from the sea level with exotic view of Jot valley and 11 km trail . Along the road is famous holy Temple of Mata Pauhlani and clear views of dhauladhar pir panjaal range.
Unforgettable journey from Dalhousie to Bharmour. Night stay will be in a local Hotel and sight seeing of a local holy place known as Chaurasi. This place contains 84 Temple of various God and Goddess, hence the name Chaurasi. And after that a bit long journey to the Mata Bharmani Temple. Every one visit here before starting their journey to Manimahesh.
Bharmour to hadsar and then starts the journey to Lord Shiva’s valley. Its almost 13 km and ponies or horses are available during journey with extra charge. Our first stay will be in ‘Dhann chho ‘ almost 6 km from hadsar. A beautiful waterfall and breathtaking view of surrounding valley. Night stay will be in a camp.
We will start our journey from Dhann chho to Manimahesh. Just after 1 km away from Dhann chho is *Lord shiva’ ghrat millstone you can literally hear the sound of moving that ghrat. And after that our next stop is Gaurikund Lord Shiva’s wife and Goddess Mata Gauri’s Resting place. Its almost 3 km from Dhann chho. And just After 4 km our final destination will arrive . You will spend the night there . In the arms of Lord shiva and mesmerising view of Lord Shiva’s residence The Manimahesh Mountain.
Journey back to hadsar and night stay in a hotel.
Back to Dalhousie.
